Its all in the detail
Roman View was a dilapidated barn dating back to the 1500's. Its original construction was for the storage of hay, and its many features in design are unique to that type of use. It has high arch entrances to allow the passing through of a fully loaded horse cart through to a smaller exit once unloaded.
Its beam construction shows the battle scars of the ships the wood was reclaimed from, adding further heritage and history to the property.
We had to fully renovate this building to a 21st century family home holiday let. It needed to have all of the latest technologies whilst proudly showing off the features that makes this type of barn unique.
We completed the project in 6 months and the finished spec is as follows:
-
Travertine flooring throughout ground floor
-
Handmade kitchen
-
Dordogne oak doors
-
Wet room drench showers
-
5 km of cabling to supply the audio visual automation systems to all bedrooms and living spaces
-
Hand painted wooden windows
-
Hand made oak staircase
-
Hand prepared oak vaulted ceiling beams and supports (Each meter of beam takes 45 minutes to renovate)
-
Bespoke landscape scheme to compliment the properties shape
